“We believe that the road to a brighter future for a small Nordic design company like ours lies in challenging the established rules of the game – by doing what the large players are unable to do. For example, by being open-minded towards all sorts of good designers and ideas regardless of how established they are, and experimenting with innovative and exploratory concepts of design, material, function or production process. At the same time we try to make sure we create good and lasting products for the world, delivered with a personal, passionate and intimate touch that is clear in all that we do and the way that we work. Never have there been so many young and well-educated designers out there. Unfortunately most of these talented people never get the chance to see their ideas realised. This is why Northern Lighting has an open-door policy for everyone creating lights, and why we evaluate more than 1000 product ideas each year.”
